The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), Government of Maharashtra, manages Mumbai’s critical slum rehabilitation mission affecting hundreds of thousands of families. However, traditional citizen interaction systems created significant operational challenges.
Operational Inefficiencies:
Citizens had to physically visit SRA offices for every interaction - inquiries, applications, status checks, and document submissions. This created bottlenecks with long waiting times and reduced accessibility for working-class citizens who couldn’t easily take time off.
No Application Visibility:
Once applications were submitted (PAP allotment, legal heir certificates, land acquisition), citizens had no way to track status without office visits. This opacity created anxiety, repeated visits, and perception of inefficiency.
Document Management Chaos:
Physical document submission led to errors, loss, and repeated submissions. Citizens learned about incomplete documents only after office visits, requiring multiple trips.
Communication Gaps:
SRA relied on postal mail and phone calls for citizen communication - slow, unreliable, and often ineffective. Citizens had no direct communication channel with officers.
Stakeholder Challenges:
Developers, architects, and consultants missed critical tender notices and regulatory updates, as they had to manually check the website repeatedly.
The challenge was creating a government-grade mobile application that would democratize access to SRA services, bring transparency, reduce physical dependency, and align with Digital India objectives - while ensuring security and accessibility for citizens across all literacy levels.

Secure Document Management
Upload documents directly via camera or gallery. Supports Aadhaar, ration card, residence proof, certificates, and PDFs. All documents encrypted and stored on Azure Government Cloud. Citizens can view submission history and verification status. OCR technology extracts information to pre-fill forms, reducing manual entry.
Latest Updates & Government Circulars
Official channel for government orders, policy circulars, news, e-tender notices, interview notifications, and event announcements. Users filter by category, subscribe to relevant updates, download documents, and share via WhatsApp or email.
Online Appointment Booking
Book appointments with SRA officers directly - select officer/department, choose convenient time slots, receive WhatsApp confirmation, get automated reminders, and reschedule if needed. Officers view daily schedules with citizen details for better preparation.
Multi-Language & Accessibility
Full support for English, Hindi, and Marathi. Dark mode for comfortable viewing and battery saving. Large text options, high contrast mode, screen reader compatibility, voice input, and minimal data usage mode ensure accessibility for all users.
