The Challenge

As a growing LED lighting manufacturer with an expanding product portfolio and customer base, Vera LED faced critical operational challenges that traditional e-commerce platforms couldn’t address.

Product Complexity & Variations: LED products come with numerous technical specifications—power wattage, color temperature (warm white, neutral white, cool white), beam angles, lumens, sizes, IP grades, and materials. Managing these product variations, displaying them clearly to customers, and ensuring correct order placement was complex. Traditional catalogs couldn’t effectively communicate technical specifications that buyers needed for decision-making.

B2B & B2C Dual Market: Vera LED served both businesses (contractors, dealers, bulk buyers) and individual consumers, each with different purchasing behaviors. B2B customers needed bulk pricing, credit terms, technical specifications, and relationship management. B2C customers needed simple browsing, detailed product information, and straightforward purchasing. Existing platforms couldn’t handle this dual-market complexity efficiently.

Mobile-First Customer Behavior: Their target customers—contractors visiting sites, electricians making on-site decisions, designers coordinating projects—were predominantly mobile users. Desktop e-commerce didn’t fit their workflow. They needed to browse products, check specifications, and place orders while at client locations or job sites. Traditional web-based systems were impractical for mobile-first users.

Sales Team Coordination: Vera LED employed sales representatives visiting clients, attending exhibitions, and managing territories. These field sales teams needed mobile tools to showcase products, take orders on behalf of clients, track their sales performance, and coordinate with back-office operations. Paper catalogs and order books were outdated and inefficient.

Offer & Promotion Management: Running promotions, seasonal discounts, festive offers, and clearance sales required dynamic pricing management. Creating offers, applying them to specific products or categories, setting validity periods, and communicating them effectively to customers was administratively burdensome without a dedicated system.

Vendor & Supply Chain: As manufacturers, Vera LED coordinated with component suppliers, packaging vendors, and logistics partners. Managing vendor information, tracking supplies, and coordinating deliveries lacked systematic digital management, causing delays and miscommunication.

Order Processing Bottleneck: Orders came through phone calls, WhatsApp messages, emails, and in-person visits—all requiring manual entry into inventory and accounting systems. This created delays, errors in specifications, payment tracking issues, and customer service problems. Real-time order status visibility was absent.

Inventory Visibility: Without real-time inventory visibility, sales teams sometimes promised products that were out of stock, or customers ordered unavailable items. This led to backorders, delayed fulfillments, and customer dissatisfaction. Inventory management across warehouses needed to sync with the ordering system.

Technical Information Access: Customers and sales teams needed instant access to technical data sheets, installation guides, warranty information, and certification documents. Sharing these documents through email or physical copies was slow and inefficient, affecting customer confidence and decision speed.
